Trying to fix Windows 10 error message.

Running Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) Version 1607 build 14393.51 with 16 GB memory.
Have installed' the Anniversary Upgrade 14316, and setup the Bash environment.
After 2 days have lost the item in the menu "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows (Beta)".
Tried turning off/on the windows feature "Windows Subsystem for Linux (Beta)" (Reboots in between).
No difference.
Then discovered the following in Windows Update:-

Clicking on ‘Windows Insider Programme’ on the left or ‘Windows Insider Programme settings’ gives:-

On that page nothing works except the 'feedback' link.
I do not have a problem with Windows Update which appears to work, and I can even access Bash from command line.
What I would like to do is fix the Windows error message.
Please note I have never been, am not currently, and do not wish to be a member of the Insider Program.
Any help please.
